We strive to assist everyone from the first phone call to coordinate patient care, to our pre-certification services, patient referral, and appointment confirmations, to digital imaging and deliver accurate results of the diagnostic testing to help determine plans of action so that physicians will feel at ease to refer the best care for diagnostic imaging to their patients. Patient comfort starts with clear communication prior to and during a patient’s visit including during their diagnostic imaging experience, and often in supportive communication outside of their appointments. Whether their concern is their body claustrophobia or procedure or their appointment schedule or their finances and insurance requirements. At Sonos Imaging, everything we do revolves around our patients and their comfort.

State of the Art MRI Testing Diagnostics

Sonos Imaging is home to the Optima*MR450w 1.5 T MR system from GE Healthcare. This system is designed to maximize comfort and technology. Our Wide Bore MR System made by GE, which represents the state of the art advances in MR technology, includes the most recent sophisticated diagnostic software upgrades. This state of the art MRI system delivers uncompromised imaging capability to help you make a definitive diagnosis. 

This system delivers accommodations for the needs of the patient, specifically those who may suffer claustrophobia by offering a 70cm wide bore which allows scanning for large patients and increases the comfort for all patients. In addition, soft flexible orthopedic coils conform to the patient to increase comfort. Due to the drumming noise, the Optima MR450w offers acoustic noise reduction. At Sonos Imaging, we want our patients to be relaxed, therefore we can provide earplugs to help block the noise or have the option to listen to music.

MRI Scanners use strong magnetic fields instead of x-rays to produce detailed images of tissue structures to help physicians detect, diagnose and evaluate cancers, disorders, and diseases. They are particularly useful for imaging soft tissue injuries and joint disorders that may be obstructed on a CT scan. Specialized MR exams, like MR angiographies, examine blood vessels to help diagnose and assess coronary artery disease.

When patients require diagnostic services, Sonos Imaging wants to provide service in such a manner that offers a convenient location and the most comfortable environment imaginable. We have two freestanding imaging centers for your patient's convenience. Our first office is located at 2715 Legends Parkway in Prattville, Alabama next to Lemak Health and across from Home Depot. Our Birmingham office is located at 5018 Cahaba River Road in Birmingham, Alabama.
